Our alumni association, the Harper Adams Club offers a range of scholarships to assist former Harper Adams students who return to Harper Adams University College to progress further in their academic studies.
A scholarship of £1,000 for one of our alumni attending a full- or part-time Masters course at Harper Adams University College. The scholarship is financed from the Harper Adams Club Centenary Fund which was established with donations from former Harper Adams students.
Candidates must have been awarded a first degree or HND at Harper Adams and have been accepted for a full- or part-time Masters course.
The award is divided into instalments over the duration of the course, subject to satisfactory progress. This would be usually awarded in December and February for a full-time student but may be spread over a longer period for a student following a part-time programme of study.
A scholarship of £500 for one of our alumni attending a BSc/BA top-up course at Harper Adams University College. The scholarship is financed from the Harper Adams Club’s own funds.
Candidates must have been awarded an HND/Foundation degree at Harper Adams and have been accepted for a full-time BSc/BA course.
The award is divided into two instalments, usually paid in December and February, subject to satisfactory progress.
A scholarship of £500 for an access course student progressing on to an HND/Foundation degree course at Harper Adams University College. The scholarship is financed from Development Trust funds raised through the Annual Fund appeal to former Harper Adams students.
Candidates must have successfully completed the Harper Adams Access course and have made an application and been accepted for a full-time HND/Foundation degree course.
The award is divided into two instalments, usually paid in December and February, subject to satisfactory progress.
All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis by means of written application and interview.

The Claas Scholarship is for one student studying on an Agricultural Engineering honours degree course.
The successful student will receive a payment of £2,000 per year during years 1, 2 and 4 of the course.
During that time the scholarship recipient will also be offered a summer placement with Claas UK and will be employed at Claas HQ in Germany during the sandwich placement year.
Upon successful completion of their degree the Engineer will be offered a position at Claas in Germany or Claas UK. This appointment will be for a minimum of one year.
Husco International will offer one industrial placement each year to a Harper Adams student undertaking a BEng or MEng course.
The JCB Scholarship may be awarded annually to up to 12 Engineering Students studying at Harper Adams. The value of the award is £1,000 per annum.
The John Deere Scholarship is for a student in their final year of study. The value of the award is £1,000.
After graduation the Engineer will be offered a job with John Deere.
As part of our Harper Guarantee, we will provide, non-repayable Scholarships (you don’t have to repay this money) to benefit as many of our students as possible. The scholarships are in the form of Means Tested and Merit Scholarships.
This type of scholarship is designed to help those students in need of financial assistance. You need not apply to Harper Adams for a Means tested scholarship. Your Local Education Authority (LEA) will provide the College with information about your household income and dependent on that household income we will provide non-repayable scholarships.
Merit Scholarships are non-repayable. Your eligibility for merit scholarships is assessed on a case-by-case basis and only one type of scholarship (Means tested or a Merit Scholarship) can be awarded to each student each year from the University College.

The Bidwells Partnership is one of the leading employers of rural practice property consultants and enjoys close links with Harper Adams. Bidwells offers an entrance award of up to £500 for a student on the BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management Courses.
New students on the course will be encouraged to make an application to Bidwells who will conduct interviews and announce the winner, in conjunction with Harper Adams. In addition to the scholarship the successful candidate will be allowed to undertake work experience with Bidwells.
The Bruce Wilson-North Scholarship is open to All Rural Enterprise and Land Management 1st Year BSc or FdSc students studying at Harper Adams University College and All New Rural Environment and Land Management MSc and Post Graduate Diploma students, and All New Rural Environment and Land Management MSc and Post Graduate Diploma students.
The value of the Scholarship will be £2,000 per academic year to the successful scholar.
N.B. The Country Land and Business Association CLA’s decision regarding the award of their scholarship is final, and the Business Association CLA’s decision regarding the award of their scholarship is final.
The award will be made to a promising student whose financial circumstances would mean that they would be unable to undertake this course without this assistance.

The Douglas Bomford Trust Scholarship is for one student each year studying on a BEng Honours or BSc Honours Agricultural Engineering or Agricultural Engineering Marketing and Management Courses. The value of the award is £2,000 per year.
The JCB Scholarship may be awarded annually to up to 12 Engineering Students studying at Harper Adams. The value of the award is £1,000 per annum.
The McConnell Scholarship is open to undergraduate Engineering students. The value of the award is between £500 and £1,000 and it is for one academic year only.
The Taylor McNally Foundation will award one scholarship to a value of £250 to a student from the Island of Ireland who has at the end of the first year been seen to have contributed the most to rugby at Harper Adams University College by the Foundation.
o A further award of £250 may be awarded to the successful scholarship recipient provided that the recipient continues to play rugby at Harper Adams.
The Worshipful Company of Pouters Scholarsip will be awarded to two students who wish to make a career upon graduation in the poultry industry.
o The value of the award is £1,000 for two academic years.
The Wessex Animal Health Scholarship is for one student whose ambition is to have a career upon graduation in Sales and Marketing with their business.

Introduced in 2004, Elanco Animal Health awards one £800 scholarship to a student resident in either Northern Ireland or the Republic.

Harper Adams in Ireland is the Association of 800 past Harper Adams students in Ireland. The Association makes an annual scholarship of £500 to a first year student resident in Co. Cavan, Co. Donegal or Co. Monaghan.

The Poultry Industry Education Trust finances three awards annually, each valued at £1,000. Preference is given to students who have poultry experience or whose parents are employed in or associated with the poultry industry. Devenish Nutrition will award one scholarship annually to a student resident in the island of Ireland studying a course in animal science or agriculture. The value of the award is £400 in the first year and £300 in each subsequent academic year excluding the sandwich year in industry.
